VP of Marketing, Downey FCU (Downey, CA)
Tyrone Conde is the Vice President of Marketing at Downey Federal Credit Union (DFCU), where he oversees the credit union’s marketing and community engagement efforts, such as hosting financial literacy events for over 2,500 high school students, developing the Money Smart Jr program, a financial literacy simulation for elementary aged kids, and partnering with the Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy program to provide children resources for education on saving and earning. He also led efforts to form strategic partnerships and initiatives that help drive DFCU closer to its goal of serving the underserved community – including becoming a Juntos Avanzamos credit union, launching a Spanish language online and mobile banking platform, becoming an Inclusiv member, and expanding the credit union’s lending capabilities to accept ITIN applications.
Prior to joining the credit union, he was with the Los Angeles Lakers basketball club for 11 years.
Tyrone earned his Baccalaureate of Science degree in Marketing from California State University - Los Angeles in 2005 and earned his MBA from the same school in 2012.
Conde is passionate about helping underserved and immigrant communities, driven to provide opportunities and access to inclusive banking products that those communities might not have access to otherwise. As one of six children to Mexican immigrant parents in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, he understands firsthand the struggles and lack of resources that many face on a daily basis. This is what motivates him to continue working to help bring equity to these communities.
Tyrone is married with two children and lives in Downey, CA with his family.
