Kathy Chartier became the first time full employee of Members Credit Union (MCU), formerly Greenwich CT Teachers Federal Credit Union, when she took the position of manager in 1987. The credit union has grown to be a full service $29M community development credit union, serving not only teachers but the underserved in Fairfield County. MCU is helping immigrants to improve their financial position in life, with more than half of new members being Hispanic immigrants. MCU won the 2018 CU Times Trail Blazer Award for Outstanding Service to the Underserved and Kathy received a 2018 Credit Union Hero Achievement Award.
